Colden Corporation is pleased to welcome Doug Fallon, MSPH, CIH as a Project Consultant based out of the Washington, D.C. area, where he will be instrumental in our efforts to expand our reach and support to clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. Doug brings with him over ten years of active-duty military service and extensive experience in the health and safety field in the United States and overseas. In his prior role as Regional Safety and Environmental Health Director with the U.S. Coast Guard, he delivered safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental health services across five states, supporting 124 Coast Guard facilities and 5,000+ employees. Doug most recently served as the Manager of the U.S. Army’s Industrial Hygiene Program Office in Stuttgart, Germany, where he led exposure risk assessments to identify and mitigate COVID-19, dental, medical, veterinary, weapons training, and emergency services related occupational hazards.
Doug holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University with a concentration in occupational and environmental hygiene. While studying at Johns Hopkins University, he interned at the Smithsonian Institution where he designed and led a project on effective cleanup methods for historic pesticide use. Doug’s work led to a novel decontamination technique for museum conservators and published findings in a peer-reviewed journal, which is available here. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, graduating with honors.
Doug is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, and an active member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), recently supporting projects to field an IH-calculation app and review and update the AIHA Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene course.
