Andrew Byrne

Project Manager

Working out of the Syracuse office, Andrew Byrne serves as a Colden Project Manager with 15 years of environmental, health and safety experience. He provides industrial hygiene consulting: including IH surveys and risk assessments, health and safety compliance audits, indoor environmental quality investigations, machine guarding evaluations and environmental health & safety (EHS) program development and training.  He evaluates processes, work practices and equipment for clients to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, reduce injury rates, control exposures, and instill safe work practices. Since joining Colden in 2022, he has assisted clients with regulatory compliance by performing both onsite and programmatic assessments in a variety of industries including laboratories, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, renewable energy, and academics.

Mr. Byrne earned a Bachelor of Science from Clarkson University with a double major in Environmental Science & Policy and Biology. He is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Prior to joining Colden, Mr. Byrne served as an EHS Manager at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY where he led a team responsible for overseeing all of the environmental, health and safety matters at the Syracuse VA hospital, as well as 11 offsite buildings and clinics. He also managed the hospital’s Joint Commission environment of care program. Additionally, he worked for 10 years as an Industrial Hygiene Compliance Officer with the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). During his time with OSHA, Mr. Byrne conducted over 500 workplace safety and health compliance inspections including Process Safety Management (PSM) inspections involving ammonia refrigeration systems and chemical manufacturing processes.

When Andy is not at work he loves to hike, fish and take amazing photographs of nature.
