Catherine Bobenhausen, MS, CIH, CSP, AIHA Fellow, LEED BD+C will present “The Lingering Pandemic: Rethinking Disinfection”. Catherine will explore the emerging initiatives in the sustainability field to incentivize safer disinfecting practices. These initiatives are based on the confluence of two missions: remove and deactivate viable SARS-CoV-2; and, follow the precautionary principle, minimizing chemical exposures. Examples from Green Seal, the WELL and LEED rating systems, and EPA’s Safer Choice will be highlighted. Take-home pointers, case studies and lessons learned will be shared.
