Project Manager, Asbestos Program Coordinator
Joseph Cantone brings the benefits of nearly 20 years of experience in the asbestos and hazardous materials industry. His professional roles have ranged from asbestos safety training for thousands of students to management of extensive remediation and abatement projects for both public and private entities. Mr. Cantone coordinates Colden’s asbestos program, which encompasses building inspections, project design, work plans, project monitoring, and project air monitoring.
Mr. Cantone received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the State University of New York, College at Brockport. He is an American Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He is also certified by New York State as a Project Designer, Asbestos Inspector, Mold Assessor, Project Monitor, and Air Sampling Technician. Mr. Cantone is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and Professional Abatement Contractors of New York, he is also OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER-trained and certified in OSHA’s 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety programs. He is currently a practitioner of the Martial Art Krav Maga and holds the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt.
Starting his career as a Field Technician with Environmental Compliance Management Corp., Mr. Cantone conducted project monitoring, air monitoring, and building inspections for commercial and industrial clients, institutions, military facilities, and residential owners. He then proceeded to the training arena, where he provided initial and refresher training for supervisors, handlers, project designers, inspectors, project monitors, air sampling technicians, operations and maintenance personnel, and allied trades.
