Mark Durham’s 35+ years of nationally recognized professional experience includes supporting asbestos defense litigation, real property environmental hazard evaluation, and a wide range of environmental hazard remediation work. With experience in both the regulatory and consultant communities, he offers clients a balanced perspective that accommodates competing needs. Mr. Durham’s portfolio of client services is expansive, including occupational and public health hazard management for the military and other government entities, investors, developers, property owners, and commercial clients. He has lectured and delivered presentations nationally on industrial hygiene, environmental health, and health management issues, establishing his credentials as a litigation support expert, in particular regarding asbestos issues and associated product and premises liability.

Mr. Durham earned a master of science in industrial hygiene from Drexel University and a bachelor of arts in biology from Gettysburg College. He maintains certification in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene (CIH) and is a member of the Academy of Industrial Hygiene, the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and the former National Asbestos Council, having served as a member of that organization’s board of directors and as chair of its Regulatory Affairs and Ethics committees.

Mr. Durham started his career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force serving as a munitions maintenance officer and nuclear safety officer for squadrons in the U.S. and Canada. From there, he served a 6-year stint in OSHA, supervising the industrial hygiene staff in the agency’s second-largest area office. In this capacity, he won significant compliance litigation cases involving steel mills, foundries, refineries, and asbestos manufacturers. Since 1980, Mr. Durham’s consulting career has included leadership and expert-witness roles with Galson Corporation, Clayton Group Services, and now Colden Corporation.
