Mark Volatile

Safety Technician

Mark Volatile has more than 25 years’ experience managing projects ranging from asbestos, lead, and mold abatement to decontamination of chemical and biological laboratories. He also provides employee fall-protection and confined-space training. Mr. Volatile is working at an OSHA VPP Star manufacturing facility with 4,000+ employees, where he cleans, inspects, and repairs air-purifying respirators and conducts employee fit testing.

 

Mr. Volatile holds a bachelor of science in environmental science and mechanical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to conduct inspections for asbestos-containing building materials and is certified under OSHA’s 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10-hour construction safety and health training programs.

 

He started his career in 1987 for Kaselaan & D’Angelo Associates as an air sampling technician and progressed to a project manager supervising building inspections. Mr. Volatile also worked for ETI as an instructor of asbestos and lead certification courses and at Criterion Laboratories as a project manager and instructor. Mr. Volatile served a 5-year stint at Altchem Environmental as a senior project manager supervising environmental remediation projects. He then proceeded to work at HazMat Solutions and subsequently at Synertech Environmental, where he managed asbestos and hazardous material inspections for the Philadelphia School District.
